1st Session: Technical Session:
⦁ Introduction of Programme by Sh. Rakesh Gaur, Founder President, Udisha
⦁ Role of Delhi State Legal Services Authority in protection of women from the domestic violence : Sh. Bhupender Singh Metropolitan Magistrate and Project Officer Delhi State Legal Services Authority
In this session all the Protection Officers appointed under the Act attended the programme and interacted with the Chief Guest Sh. Surender S. Rathi, Addl. Distt. & Sessions Judge/ OSD, DLSA regarding difficulties while submitting the case in the court. The participants were also asked for a write-up on the theme of the Seminar.(Copies of selected Wrie Ups enclosed)
Students of 4 DIETs including Students of 4 teacher’s Training institutes including Moti Bagh, Darya Ganj, Keshavpuram, Vidya Training Institute, Gole Market and Gyan Bharti shiksha Samit, NGO also actively participated in the programme.

(II) National Seminar on Burning Issues related to Women including HIV/AIDS on 8th March, 2014 at Auditorium, NDMC Convention Centre

Prior to the event on 25th April, 2014, Udisha and Bhagidari Jan Sahyog Samiti organized another program on burning issues related to women including HIV/AIDSon 8th March, 2014- International Women’s Day . This program was funded by Bhagidari Jan Sahyog Samiti , NGO.

Activities Report of the Day long Programme
Bhagidari Jan SahyogSamiti (Regd.) & Udisha (Regd.) jointly celebrated International Women’s Day Celebration and organized various activities on Prevention of HIV/AIDS on 8th March, 2014 at Auditorium, NDMC Convention Centre, Sansad Marg, New Delhi. The programme was jointly supported by Delhi AIDS Control Society, Govt. of Delhi and Department of Women and Child Dev., Govt. of Delhi, National Commission for Women, Govt. of India, All India Confederation for Women’s Empowerment Through Education (Regd.), Dena Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce were the partners in the programme.
The programme was started with the Rally of 500 representatives on Prevention of HIV/AIDS including member and Senior Officers of Delhi Civil Defence, Govt. of Delhi, Trainee teachers of Teachers’ Training Institutes (DIETS), and students of Delhi University carrying banners and display cards on the theme of the rally. The rally was flagged off from the gate of the Auditorium, NDMC Convention Centre, jointly by Ms. Shabistan Gaffar, Hon’ble Chairperson Committee for Girls Education, National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, Govt. of India, Dr.S.S.Ranga Joint Director Delhi State AIDS Control Society, Govt. of Delhi, Ms. Renu Lov, Asstt. Director, Department of Women and Child Dev. Govt. of Delhi. On the crowded back lane of Hanuman Mandir, one hour programme was organised with Skits and Nukkad Natak (Street P{lay) on the theme of the rally. After the Rally, all the participants again reported at the venue i.e. Auditorium, NDMC Convention Centre, New Delhi.
The Chief Guest, Ms. Mamta Sharma, Hon’ble Chairperson National Commission for Women, Govt. of India and Chairperson of the programme, Hon’ble Justice M.S.A. Siddiqui, Chairperson National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, Govt. of India were welcomed by the Police Band playing tunes of patriotic songs.
Ms.Renu Lov, Asstt. Director, Deptt. Of Women and Child Dev., Govt. of Delhi presented the memento to Ms.Mamta Sharma and Sh. Rakesh Gaur presented the memento to Hon’ble Justice M.S.A. Siddiqui.
In his key note address, Prof. K.K. Aggrawal, Chief Patron Bhagidari JSS and Chancellor, K.R. Mangalam University highlighted the important role of youths for spreading awareness about prevention of AIDS and appealed to the students & Trainee Teachers to donate the blood for the HIV effected patients. He further added that awareness programme for donor motivation through Information, Education and Motivation should be continued by the NGOs as Pilot project of the organisation in the public interest.
While addressing the gathering Chief Guest Ms. Mamta Sharma told that there are number of areas where we can successfully integrate prevention and management of STD/HIV/AIDS into reproductive, maternal and newborn health services. She also gave the following tips for the same:
For HIV-infected women
– Prevention of transmission from mother to her infant
– Ensure their infants receive co-trimoxazole prophylaxis, follow up care and
early HIV diagnosis.
– Refer HIV positive women and children for assessment and ARV
Treatment and OI and treatment as required
For HIV-negative women
– Provide HIV prevention counselling at routine couple visit
She also assured that NCW- Govt. of India will welcome the proposals, submitted on the burning issues related to the women and girls.
In the brief speech, the Chairperson of the programme, Justice M.S.A. Siddiqui, Chairperson National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, Govt. of India highlighted the powers and functions of the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions and asked minority communities to avail of the facilities. He also explained the need for providing proper and modern education to the children of the Muslim community, particularly Muslim women and girls. He also pointed out the major problems being faced by the minority’s communities in India and urged the gathering to join the awareness campaign for Prevention of HIV/AIDS.
The interactive session was chaired by Ms. Shabistan Gaffar Chairperson, Committee for Girls Education, National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, Govt. of India. More than 30 participants participated in the Suggestion Competition and Hindi Slogan Competition. Prizes were also awarded to the winners of these competitions.
On this occasion, Ms. Mamta Sharma, Chairperson NCW – Govt. of India awarded Trophies to Mrs. Rashmi Singh, Executive Chairperson, Ministry of Women and Child Dev., Govt. of India, Ms. Renu Lov, Asstt. Director, Department of Women and Child Dev. Govt. of Delhi, Ms. Shabistan Gaffar, Chairperson All India Confederation for Women’s Empowerment through Education (Regd.) for their outstanding services in the field of Public Awareness Campaign related to the women and girls.
